This notice covers pontive.com — the marketing site. It explains what we collect when you join the waitlist, contact us, or simply read a page.
Version 1.0 · Effective
Who we are
This website is operated by Revotech Pty Ltd, trading as Pontive in Australia. We decide why and how the personal data described below is processed, which in data-protection terms makes us the controller.
“Pontive” is the product. The company behind it — and the one you exercise your rights against — is the entity named above.
For anything in this notice, including any request under your rights, contact us at the details in contact.
What we collect
We collect three things, and nothing else. There is no account, no login, and no profile behind this site.
When you join the waitlist
Your email address. That is the only field the form has and the only value sent.
When you send us a message
Your first and last name, email address, subject and message, plus company and role if you choose to fill them in. The form also offers to add you to the waitlist; that is a separate choice, and we act on it only if you leave it ticked.
Whatever you write in the message field reaches us as you typed it, so please do not include sensitive details you would not want held in a support inbox.
When you read a page
If — and only if — you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics records which pages you viewed, roughly where you are (country or city level, derived from an IP address that Google does not store), which site referred you, and what kind of device and browser you used. It does not tell us who you are, and we do not try to join it to anything that would.
Decline, and none of that is collected. See the Cookie Policy for the exact list of what is stored on your device.
Why we collect it, and our lawful basis
Under the GDPR every use of personal data needs a lawful basis. Ours are:
- Waitlist — consent. You asked to be told when Pontive launches, so that is what we will email you about. You can withdraw at any time, and every email carries an unsubscribe link.
- Your message — legitimate interests. Replying to someone who contacted us is the obvious use of what they sent, and it is what you expected when you pressed send.
- Analytics — consent. Never set before you agree, and withdrawable at any time from the cookie settings.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
International transfers
Pontive and several of its providers are outside the European Economic Area, so personal data collected here may be transferred out of it.
Where that happens, the transfer is covered by an appropriate safeguard — an adequacy decision for the receiving country or framework, or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. Google LLC is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, which covers the Google Analytics transfer.
You can ask us for a copy of the safeguard that applies to a particular transfer.
How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for. “As long as necessary” on its own tells you nothing, so here is what actually decides it in each case:
| What | Kept until |
|---|---|
| Waitlist email address | Until Pontive launches and we have told you, or until you ask us to remove you — whichever comes first. |
| Contact form submissions | For as long as it takes to deal with your enquiry, and then a limited period afterwards so we have a record of what was discussed. |
| Analytics data | Event-level data is deleted on the schedule configured in Google Analytics. Aggregated reports, which cannot identify you, are kept indefinitely. |
Once that point is reached, it is deleted. You can ask us to delete it sooner — see your rights.
Your rights
If the GDPR applies to you, you can ask us to do any of the following, free of charge:
- Access — get a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — have anything inaccurate corrected.
- Erasure — have it deleted.
- Restriction — have us pause using it while a dispute is resolved.
- Portability — receive it in a machine-readable form, or have it sent elsewhere.
- Objection — object to processing we base on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent — at any time, and as easily as you gave it. Withdrawing does not undo what was lawful before.
We answer within one month. We will not charge you or treat you differently for asking.
You also have the right to complain to a data-protection supervisory authority — in the EU, the one where you live or work.
Security
Data sent through this site travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and is held on access-controlled systems. No system is perfectly secure, and we would rather say that plainly than imply a guarantee nobody can give.
Children
This site is aimed at people building software professionally. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes to this notice
When this notice changes materially we update the version and effective date at the top, and — where the change affects something you previously consented to — we ask again rather than assume the old answer still stands.
Contact and complaints
Privacy questions, rights requests and complaints all go to the same place, and we would always rather hear from you before you go to a regulator.
