What cookies are
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep, so it can recognise the same browser on a later request. The same rules cover related technologies — localStorage among them — so this policy treats them together and the table below says which mechanism each entry uses.
Cookies that are not strictly necessary need your permission before they are set. That is why you saw a choice rather than a notice.
The categories we use
- Strictly necessary — required for the site to function. These do not need consent, and cannot be switched off.
- Preferences — remember a choice you actively made, like light or dark appearance. They exist only because you set something.
- Analytics — help us understand which pages are read and how people arrive. Off until you accept.
We use no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on this site. If that ever changes, this page and the consent options change with it, and we ask again.

Changing your choice
Use the Cookie settings link in the footer, on any page. Withdrawing is as easy as accepting, and takes effect immediately.
Your choice is stored on your own device, not in an account — so it is per-browser, and clearing your browser storage resets it. We keep no server-side record tying a cookie choice to you, because doing that would mean identifying people in order to record that they declined to be identified.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so for the strictly necessary ones may break parts of the site.
Third-party cookies
The analytics entries in the table are set by Google, through Google Analytics 4. Google acts as our processor for that data, and the transfer is covered in the Privacy Policy.
Nothing else on this site loads a third-party script that stores data on your device. If a blog post ever embeds a video, its provider is added to the table above before the post is published.
Changes to this policy
The table above is generated from the site’s own configuration rather than maintained by hand, so it reflects what is actually loaded rather than what someone remembered to write down. When the substance changes we bump the version at the top, and your stored consent records which version you agreed to.
